Chris Theis has extensive experience in investment banking, having worked in the capital and equity markets in both New York and London. He joined Merchant Securities from Daniel Stewart & Co Limited, where he was a director of corporate broking. Prior to this, Chris was managing director and head of corporate broking at both Canaccord Adams and Insinger De Beaufort. In his earlier career, he led number one rated small cap teams at Smith New Court and Hoare Govett. Chris holds an MBA from Cass Business School.
Kurt Budge’s career in the mining sector spans almost 20 years and encompasses investment, corporate and operations roles. He joined Merchant Securities from Religare Capital Markets, where he was Director of Mining Research. Prior to this, Kurt was Vice President of Pala Investments AG. He also spent five years as a Business Development Executive in Rio Tinto's Business Evaluation Department, and held several senior management positions with RJB Mining (now UK Coal plc). Kurt holds an M.Eng (Hons) degree in Mining Engineering from The Royal School of Mines and an MBA from London Business School.
Amisha Chohan graduated from Nottingham University with a Masters in Finance and Investment in 2004 having read Business Finance at the University of Durham. She started her career as a generalist equity analyst at Blue Oar Securities. Amisha previously worked as a buy-side analyst responsible for directing investment decisions.
Brendan Long has over ten years of international upstream oil & gas experience ranging from mergers and acquisitions, bank lending to equity research. He holds a Certificate in Petroleum Reservoir Evaluation from the Harold Vance Department of Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University, a Masters in Finance from the London School of Economics and a Masters in Law from the Institut Politiques de Paris.
Roger Phillips is a highly regarded technology equity analyst. He has twice been voted the UK's techMARK Analyst of the Year (2002 and 2011), which is decided by technology fund managers and techMARK companies, and has also been regularly highly ranked in Extel Surveys for both small and large caps. He joined Merchant Securities in January 2012 from Evolution Securities, where he covered the pan-European technology sector. Prior to this, he held similar roles at Landsbanki and Robert W. Baird.
Roger started his career at Deloitte & Touche and has a degree in Economics & Politics from Bristol University.
