Merchant Securities Limited delegates clearing and settlement to Pershing Securities Limited. Pershing is the largest clearing agent in the world and part of the Bank of New York Mellon Group and provides bespoke trading, clearing, settlement and custody services to more than 1,100 financial organisations around the globe. Your assets are held in custody by Pershing and are segregated from, and never exposed to the balance sheet of either Merchant Securities or Pershing.

Protection of your assets

In addition to the account protection offered to investors by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS), Pershing provides coverage in excess of FSCS limits to our clients through Lloyd's of London. The coverage through Lloyd's of London protects FSCS eligible client assets up to a limit of US$1.9 million per account, against specified events causing loss. This level of account protection provides the highest level of coverage offered in the industry today and should give you extra comfort of the safety your assets have while in custody at Pershing.
